Grease Trap

Grease Traps

Grease trap or interceptors are installed in commercial kitchens and restaurants to help prevent the fats, oils, and grease (FOG) from entering the sewer and creating blockages in the sewage system.

Callaway Plumbing and Drains Ltd. has qualified plumbers to help size, order and install new grease traps, or maybe you now have to enlarge the grease trap you have now, maybe the one you have now is corroded and leaking our plumbers can do it ALL.We work with the CRD and city inspectors to make sure the work is done right the first time.

After the grease trap has been installed the customer now has to maintain the grease trap which entails in having a company pump out the contents on a reoccurring schedule so the grease trap can do it’s job correctly, this must also be reported and kept with a maintenance log.

Back Flow Testing

Callaway Plumbing and Drains Ltd. is a certified and active (back flow)cross control tester with BCWWA. Being a journeyman plumber, we can also install and or repair backflow devices.  Back flow devices are installed to protect the public drinking water from any back flow or backsiphonage that may occur.

The CRD on Vancouver Island does inspections of commercial properties to make sure devices are in place and are being tested annually, they will usually send out notices to inform you it is time for testing.  It is important to test so we can keep the public water system free from any contamination.
